Hakushu – 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

Hakushu 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Mt Kaikomagatake distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled in direct-fire pot stills and aged in small white oak casks for 12 years or longer. The distillery's mountain setting, with forests and water filtered by rain and snow through ages-old granite, is credited with giving its malts softness and purity. This bottling is regarded as the heart of the Hakushu range. Green and herbal in character, it offers a sweet, velvety smokiness with the scents of green leaves and fruits.
