Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt is a Japanese single malt from the 2024 Tsukuriwake Cask Collection, released in the year of the distillery's centennial. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was made at Hakushu Distillery in Yamanashi, high in the Japanese Alps, and matured for 18 years in a mix of casks.
The nose offers sage, green apple, pineapple and fresh herbs with a delicate veil of peat smoke. The palate is layered, with gentle smoke, pear, grapefruit, acacia honey, mint and pepper. The finish is clean and long, with herbal clarity, citrus zest and oak.
