Hatozaki Small Batch Pure Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Hatozaki Small Batch is a Japanese blended malt, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Each batch is put together from fewer than 20 casks, and the base is made up of malt whiskies aged five to six years. The base whiskies are first chosen from ex-bourbon casks. Part of them is then married and matured further in ex-sherry casks, and the final blend rests in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose is malt and dried fruit. On the palate these continue, joined by honeyed notes, and the finish closes with a subtle touch of smoke.
