This is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged seven years and bottled in bond at 50% ABV (100 proof), in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled at Heaven Hill's Bernheim distillery in Louisville from a mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
Under the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 every barrel comes from a single distiller and a single season. Heaven Hill ages this one well beyond the four-year minimum, using barrels chosen from its rickhouses.
The nose brings vanilla, caramel and oak with a trace of leather and tobacco. On the palate are rye spice, graham cracker, butterscotch and honey, and the medium to long finish carries cinnamon, caramel, cherry and oak.
