This is a seven year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, bottled in bond at 50% (100 proof). It pays tribute to the distillery's original 1939 Bottled-in-Bond release.
It was produced at the Bernheim Distillery in Louisville and bottled in Bardstown. The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, and the age is three years beyond the four-year bond minimum.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel, honey and aged oak, with traces of leather, tobacco and dark cherry. The palate is warm and sweet with a little rye spice, and the finish is long, with cinnamon, caramel and tobacco leaf.
