Bernheim Original is a Kentucky straight wheat whiskey from Heaven Hill, aged for 7 years and bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was launched in 2005 and is made at the Bernheim Distillery in Louisville.
Soft winter wheat is the main grain, making up 51% of the mash alongside 37% corn and 12% malted barley. The whisky matured in traditional open rickhouses.
The nose is mildly sweet with vanilla and honey. Toffee, berries and spice come through on the palate, and the finish is toasted oak.
