This is a 17-year-old single cask whisky from Hellyers Road, the distillery in Burnie on the north coast of Tasmania. It was matured in American oak and is unpeated. It was bottled at 60.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 130 bottles were produced.
The nose combines tropical and citrus fruit, with passion fruit, pineapple, lemon and grapefruit alongside gentle maltiness, fudge, vanilla, brown sugar and a hint of fennel. The palate arrives bold and warming, with toasted oak, vanilla and caramel, then lemon juice, pepper, coffee beans and pomelo. The finish is medium in length, with lingering wood and a touch of grapefruit juice.
