This is a 17 year old single malt from Hellyers Road in Tasmania, made in a slightly peated style and bottled from a single first-fill American oak cask at 59.7% ABV. The whisky was matured from 2004 to 2021, and this bottling was prepared for the French market.
On the nose there is oily peat and algae alongside pineapple, chocolate and cloves, with floral notes behind. The palate is tangy, with coconut and praline, some peat, and lemon balm and lemon. The finish is long, leaving peat and smoke, then dried fruit and maritime notes.
