This is a 17 year old single malt from Hellyers Road in Tasmania, made in a lightly peated style. It matured from 2004 to 2021 in a single first-fill American oak cask and was bottled at 59.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings oily peat and algae alongside pineapple, chocolate and cloves, with floral notes behind. On the palate it is tangy, with coconut and praline, some peat, and lemon balm and lemon underneath.
The finish is long, leaving peat and smoke first, followed by dried fruit and maritime notes.
