This is a 19-year-old single malt from Hellyers Road in Tasmania, distilled in 2003 and matured in an American oak cask. It is bottled at 61.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from cask 3184.02.
The whisky was first released for France, and is now offered more widely.
The nose is sweet, with tropical fruit, honey and citrus blossom alongside juicy barley and aromatic spices. On the palate, bready malt and grenadine sit over savoury spice, with tangy gooseberry, marzipan and chocolate. The finish brings bittersweet cacao, woody spice and malt loaf with salted butter.
