Hellyers Road 20 Year Old is an Australian single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 54% abv. It spent 20 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then was finished in an ex-Oloroso sherry butt that was 40 years old.
The nose is typically described as biscotti, caramel and almond, with subtle ripe peach, marmalade and oak. On the palate, biscotti returns alongside ginger snap, followed by cherry and raisin bread and a lively chilli chocolate spice. The finish brings warming spices behind a note of chocolate.
