Hellyers Road – 2004/2026 22 Year Old Peated Bourbon Barrel #4082.07 (70cl, 60.9%)

This is a 22-year-old peated single malt from Hellyers Road in Tasmania, drawn from a single first-fill bourbon barrel, number 4082.07. The American oak barrel previously held Jack Daniel's. The whisky was distilled in 2004 from Tasmanian Gairdner barley and bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 60.9%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Only 175 bottles were filled, selected for La Maison du Whisky's Anthology collection. The artwork is by Craig Williams, who paints on old book pages; this bottling shows a penguin. The nose recalls an upside-down peach tart with gentle smoke, plus pineapple, mango, honey and a little citrus. Apricot, peach and mango meet peat smoke on the palate, alongside earthy notes. The finish is long, with soft smoke.
