First fill American oak bourbon barrel
This is a 21-year-old Tasmanian single malt from Hellyers Road, part of the Collection Foundations. It was distilled in 2003 and matured in a first-fill American oak bourbon barrel, number 3093.04. The single cask gave 150 bottles, filled at 62.4% in 70cl bottles without chill-filtering or added colour, and presented in a wooden box. The nose is rich and creamy, with malted barley, candied pear, coconut milk, vanilla, acacia honey and candied lemon. The palate brings peppery spice and root ginger alongside pudding, hay and alfalfa, then grated ginger and green liquorice. The long finish carries walnut husk, sage tea and rice pudding, with pear, mirabelle and white grape on the breath out.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
