Hellyers Road – Double Cask Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Hellyers Road Double Cask is a small batch Tasmanian single malt, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is first aged for a minimum of five years in 200-litre American oak ex-bourbon casks. A second maturation follows in French oak barriques that previously held Tasmanian Pinot Noir, which adds red berry notes and a distinctly Tasmanian influence. The nose leads with candied oranges, stewed fruits and sultanas, with a hint of clove. The palate has subtle cinnamon spice and cereal hints, and the finish is restrained and smooth, ending with soothing spice.
