A Tasmanian single malt from Hellyers Road, made on the island's northwest coast and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to the Roaring Forties, the strong westerly winds that cross Tasmania.
It is made from Tasmanian malted barley and local rainwater, and matured in American oak casks that previously held bourbon.
The nose is honey, vanilla and soft malt, with citrus peel and light oak. The palate has sweet grain, toffee and malted barley, with pear, spice and creamy vanilla. The finish is long and mellow, with malt sweetness, light oak and a touch of spice.
