Hellyers Road Original is the entry-level single malt from the Hellyers Road distillery in Tasmania, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The Roaring Forty name refers to the Roaring Forties winds, which bring in the rainwater used in making the whisky. It is matured in American white oak barrels.
The nose is creamy lemon and vanilla, reminiscent of lemon meringue pie, with hints of banana and toffee. The palate starts grassy before juicy pear and plum appear, and the finish brings peanut brittle and cedar.
