Hellyers Road – Peated Single Malt (70cl, 46.2%)

A peated single malt from the Hellyers Road distillery on the northern coast of Tasmania, bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle without chill filtration. The distillery is named after Henry Hellyer, a 19th century explorer. It is made with Tasmanian peat and rainwater, double-distilled and aged in American oak casks. The nose has delicate peat smoke with citrus zest, damp earth and coastal brine, over creamy vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, clean peat comes with smouldering driftwood, grilled lemon and black pepper, alongside toffee and green apple. The finish is long, smoky and gently spiced, with a hint of salty air.
