A Tasmanian single malt from the Hellyers Road distillery, bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. After maturation it was finished in French oak casks that previously held Pinot Noir wine, which adds a gentle fruity sweetness to the spicy malt and toasty oak.
The nose is buttery, biscuity and malty, with hints of pina colada, allspice and tropical fruit over a berry note. On the palate it is rich and sweet, with strawberry jam, cracked black pepper, blackcurrant and a dash of nutmeg. The finish is short to medium, with sweet, fruity honey.
