Hellyers Road – Select Casks (2022) (70cl, 45.5%)

Hellyers Road Select Casks is a distillery bottling of Tasmanian single malt, in a 70cl bottle at 45.5% ABV. It brings together whisky matured in ex-bourbon, port and French oak casks, so no single cask dominates and the aim is balance and depth. Maturation takes place in Tasmania's warmer climate, which speeds the process and gives the whisky a good deal of maturity. The nose offers ripe stone fruit, vanilla, honey, light spice and red fruit. The palate is full and rounded, with toffee, dried berries, soft tannins and spicy wood, and the long, warm finish balances sweetness with spice.
