The Journeyman is an eight-year-old Tasmanian single malt from Hellyers Road, in a 70cl bottle at 46.2% ABV. It begins its maturation in bourbon casks and then moves to old tawny casks for a second maturation.
The nose is ginger snaps, baking spice and buttery fruit toast, with hints of tobacco and sandalwood. The palate offers toffee apples and plums in syrup, with dark chocolate and dates, and oak tannins balancing the dark fruit. The finish is warm and lingering.
