Hellyers Road Twin Oak (70cl, 48.9%)

Hellyers Road Twin Oak is a Tasmanian single malt that marries two whiskies: one matured for twelve years in American ex-bourbon casks, the other for five years in French ex-port casks. It is bottled at 48.9% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The distillery was founded in 1997 by a dairy cooperative, and it makes its own wash from Tasmanian barley. The nose shows vanilla and citrus marmalade with strawberry and a touch of white pepper. On the palate are creamy vanilla, orange marmalade, wild raspberries and candied lemon, with cinnamon adding spice. The finish is soft and long, with spicy oak, nutmeg and red berries.
