Voyager is a 20 year old single malt from Hellyers Road, made on Tasmania's north west coast and bottled at 54.7% in a 70cl bottle. It is a single cask release from cask 20F10c05.
The whisky spent 16 years in first fill American oak ex-bourbon casks. Head Distiller Fiona Coutts then moved it into a French oak cask for the final four years. That cask had held Tasmanian Pinot Noir, then Christmas fruit macerating, then local fortified Ruby Pinot Noir.
The nose offers fudge, vanilla, caramel and stewed apples. Caramel, custard, toffee apples and pecan pie lead the palate, and the finish is long and rich.
