This is a 21 year old Hibiki blended whisky, made by The House of Suntory and released in 2025 as an artist limited edition in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is a collaboration with the painter Hiroshi Senju.
The presentation is framed by Senju's commission, Waterfall on Colours "Hibiki", executed in ten natural shades of purple drawn from crushed oyster shell and mineral pigments. The blend draws on Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita malts and grains, with Mizunara oak in the balance.
The nose offers cooked orchard fruit, honey and dried apricot over sandalwood. The palate brings ripe stone fruit, honeyed sweetness and soft aged oak. The finish is a slow fade of wood warmth, delicate spice and sandalwood.
