Hibiki 21 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

Hibiki 21 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. It combines malt and grain whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries. Malt from sherry casks at Yamazaki forms the core of the blend, vatted with mellow grain whiskies that are over 21 years old. Hibiki was launched in 1989, and its name means resonance in Japanese. The bottle has twenty-four facets, echoing the twenty-four divisions of Japan's traditional calendar. This 21 Year Old was named World's Best Blended Whisky at the 2014 World Whiskies Awards. The nose is of sweet dried fruit, the palate is spicy, and the finish is rich and refined.
