High West Old Fashioned Barrel Finished Cocktail (37.5cl, 43%)

A ready-made Old Fashioned from High West, built on both bourbon and rye whiskies. The bourbon brings earthy-sweet corn notes and the rye adds dry spice, with raw sugar syrup and bitters pulling the blend together. The finished cocktail is rested in second-use rye whisky barrels, which marries the flavours and gives it more fullness. It is bottled at 43% in a 37.5cl bottle and is meant to be poured over ice and garnished with an orange and lemon twist. On the nose it is cassia bark, liquorice root and orange spice tea. The palate has orange zest, dried cherry and allspice, and the finish carries black pepper, cola and cinnamon.
