First-fill bourbon cask finish
A 12-year-old Highland Park single malt distilled in 2010, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as 4.358 under the name 'Salt-Baked Viking', in a 70cl bottle. Only 29 bottles were produced. The whisky comes from a bourbon hogshead that was finished in another bourbon cask. At seven years old, selected casks from the distillery were combined and the malt was returned to a variety of casks to develop further; this is one of them. The nose is delicately salty, with ozone, coastal wildflowers, beach pebbles and sooty coal hearths. The palate is saline and briny, with distant peat smoke, lanolin, mackerel and olives, and a preserved lemon in the aftertaste.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
