Hinch – Craft & Cask II Imperial Stout Finish Edition (70cl, 46.4%)

This is the second Craft & Cask release from Hinch, an Irish whiskey finished in casks that previously held imperial stout. It follows the first edition, which was bottled at 43%, and is bottled at 46.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release. The casks came from the Whitewater Brewery in Ireland and had held its Kreme de la Kremlin, an imperial stout of 10.5% ABV. Hinch is based in County Down and draws on triple distillation. The tasting notes mention fresh fruit, buttered toffee, dark cocoa and roasted coffee on the nose. Creamy toffee, coffee and vanilla lead the palate, and dark chocolate dominates the finish.
