Hinomaru Whisky Signature 1823 (70cl)

Hinomaru Signature 1823 is a Japanese malt whisky made by Kiuchi Brewery at the Yasato Distillery in Ibaraki Prefecture. It is made entirely from malt whisky distilled at Yasato, including some malt from barley grown in the Hitachino region. Whiskies matured separately in Bourbon, rum and sherry casks are combined to make it. The nose is malty, with apple, melon, sherry-cask aromas, earthy porcini and subtle sulphury notes. Sweet malt leads on the palate, followed by earthy character, seasoned wood and spice. The finish is warming and moderately long, with malt sweetness, oak and spice.
