Hudson Do The Rye Thing is a New York straight rye whiskey from Tuthilltown Distillery in the Hudson Valley, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It evolved from the earlier Hudson Manhattan Rye.
The mashbill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley from New York farms, in line with the Empire Rye standard. It is batch distilled in a hybrid pot still and matured for at least three years in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose is honey, straw, orange tea and apricot. The palate is creamy and fruit-forward, with marmalade, fruitcake, baking spice and dark chocolate. The finish is medium and silky, with white flowers and cool mint.
