Hudson Whiskey NY 5 is a New York straight bourbon aged for a minimum of five years in new American oak barrels. It comes from Tuthilltown Distillery in Gardiner, in the Hudson Valley, and is only the second age-stated whiskey in the Hudson range.
The mash bill is 95% corn and 5% malted barley, with the grain from local Hudson Valley farmers, and the spirit is pot distilled. It is bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle and is Kosher certified.
The nose is buttery, with corn bread, vanilla, citrus and toasted nutty notes. The palate is oily, with cashew butter, caramel, sweet corn and gentle baking spice. The finish is long and balanced.
