Hunter Laing Highland Journey Blended Malt (70cl, 46%)

Highland Journey is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Hunter Laing, part of the company's Journey Series. It is made only from single malts from Highland distilleries, with no grain whisky in the blend, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The malts were matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks and in Spanish sherry casks, which gives a whisky built around vanilla, caramel, orchard fruit, honey and sweet spice, with a creamy texture. On the nose it is sweet, with vanilla cream, fudge, toffee apple and toasted sugar. The palate brings apricot, peach and pear before cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is sweet and lightly dry, with oak, malty barley and almonds.
