Ichiro's Chichibu On The Way 2024 is a single malt from Chichibu Distillery in Japan, made from 100% floor-malted barley. It is a limited release of 2400 bottles, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was matured in bourbon barrels, sherry puncheons, Mizunara hogsheads, wine casks and Chibidaru, the distillery's own quarter casks.
The nose is bright, with kumquat, loquat, honey and vanilla sweetness. The palate is creamy, with condensed milk, yoghurt, plums and peaches. Rustic barley flavours carry through to a long finish.
