This is a single cask Chichibu, a Japanese single malt distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2019 at 59.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Cask #3538 was an Imperial stout barrel, in which the whisky was finished, and the bottling was made exclusively for Paul Ullrich.
The nose offers dried fruits, vanilla, honey, oak, dark chocolate and spices. The palate is full-bodied, with ripe berries, plums, caramel and a hint of smokiness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spices and soft sweetness.
