Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Paris Edition 2021 (70cl, 53.5%)

A Chichibu single malt from Ichiro Akuto's distillery, made as the Paris Edition and bottled in 2021 at 53.5%. Only 1,847 bottles were filled. It is a vatting of eight casks: from 2013, a peated first fill bourbon cask, a port pipe and three virgin oak casks, and from 2014, a red wine cask and two Chibidaru quarter casks. The barley varieties are Concerto, Peated Concerto, Venture, Braemar, Tipple and Propino. The nose shows fine spices, candied vanilla, buttery toffee and orchard fruits in syrup. The palate has dry wood, spices and exotic fruits in syrup, with a velvety, creamy feel. The finish is subtle and persistent.
