Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Paris Edition 2023 (70cl, 49.5%)

A single malt from Chichibu, crafted as a blend by Ichiro Akuto in reference to the Paris department stores, with their large glass roofs, ironwork and detailed facades. Five label versions represent the facades of these buildings, and each bottle is assigned one at random. The blend uses Chichibu aged in bourbon casks, quarter casks (chibidaru) and hogsheads of five to seven years, with different barley varieties, some of them malted by hand. It is bottled at 49.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is described as intensely fruity, delicately medicinal and fresh, with refined peat that peaks at the start of the palate.
