Ichiro's Malt Chichibu The Peated 2026 (70cl, 50.5%)

This is the 2026 edition of Chichibu The Peated, a Japanese single malt at 50.5% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It is the first peated single malt from the distillery since 2022. Chichibu was created in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto. More than 40 casks of whisky peated to 50 PPM were vatted together. Most were bourbon barrels, joined by Oloroso sherry casks and hogsheads re-coopered at the distillery's own cooperage. It is described as elegant smoke with almond, citrus and spice, followed by fresh fruit, herbal notes and a gentle, lingering sweetness.
