This is a Knockdhu single malt from the Idols of Scotland series, in a batch dedicated to Robert Burns. It was distilled in 2016, finished in Marsala casks and bottled in 2020 by Whiskymax at 46.5% ABV, with a declared age of 4 years. Just 450 bottles were filled, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The colour is light gold. The nose offers strong spice, with white pepper and nutmeg, then bay leaf and a hint of clove, alongside candied apples and glazed pears. The palate is soft and fine, with rock sugar, a dry malt note and spiciness of clove and nutmeg. The finish is medium in length, with apples and pears playing against sweet grain and a gentle fading spice.
