Refill bourbon barrel
This is a 38 year old Lowland single malt from Inverleven, distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range, Recollection Series 2. It comes from a single refill bourbon barrel and is bottled at 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barrel gave 82 bottles. Inverleven stood within the Dumbarton grain complex, just south of the Highlands border, and was mostly used for blending. The nose brings vanilla pod, crisp apple, citrus zest, honeydew melon, crystallised violets and mature oak. On the palate are Seville orange, honeycomb, grapefruit, poached pear, guava and black pepper. The finish is long and spicy, with tropical fruit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
