Isaac Bowman Port Barrel Finished Bourbon is a straight bourbon from the A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, Virginia, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is triple-distilled from corn, rye and malted barley, then finished for three to six months in port barrels from both Virginia wineries and Portuguese producers.
Ripe cherry leads the nose, with caramel and cocoa. The palate is sweet and fruity, with cherry dipped in caramel, light molasses, jammy dark fruit and deep oak tannins, then vanilla and baking spice. The finish is medium, alternating between spice and sweetness, with cocoa, oak and dried fruit.
