Isle of Jura 18 Year Old is a single malt from the island distillery, bottled at 44% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American oak, including ex-bourbon casks.
Whisky is said to have been distilled illicitly on Jura as early as 1502. The distillery in its present form dates from 1963, when it was rebuilt on its current site. Its water comes from the Bhaile Mhargaidh, and the name Jura is usually translated as 'island of deer'.
