This is a heavily peated single malt from Isle of Jura, a single cask bottled at cask strength, 56.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Xu barrels, and it is non-chill filtered.
The nose suggests a beach bonfire, tarred ropes, singed herbs and salted caramel. On the palate the peat comes with charred oak, black pepper and vanilla, in an oily texture. The finish is long and smoky, with smoked almonds, spiced oak and a touch of brine.
