Isle of Jura Two-One-Two is a 13-year-old Islands single malt and the first limited edition from Jura since the new packaging and core range arrived in 2018. The name refers to the number of people living on the island, 212.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Chinkapin oak casks. Chinkapin, also known as yellow oak, comes from North America. It was bottled in 2019 at 47.5% ABV, in an edition of 6,000 bottles.
The nose has sweet pastry with lemon tart, butterscotch, cinnamon and light fruit. The palate is mild and sweet, with apple, green pear, apricot, peach and a hint of nuts. The finish is long, with more fruit and nuts.
