Isle of Skye 18 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Isle of Skye 18 is a blended Scotch from Ian Macleod Distillers, released in batches and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It combines whiskies matured for at least 18 years in oak. The long maturation gives a fuller body and a slightly oily texture, with gentle warming spice and tropical fruit tied to the oak. The smoke is light. Gooseberry and cinnamon on the nose come with a sea breeze, then lime, chilli and black pepper. On the palate, soft smoke gives way to citrus peel, fruit cake and toffee. The finish fades from peat smoke into rounded malt and dark chocolate.
