Jack Daniel's – 10 Year Old Batch #5 (70cl, 48.5%)

The fifth release in Jack Daniel's numbered 10-year-old series, which brought back a ten-year age statement in 2021 for the first time in more than a century. This Tennessee whiskey was matured for ten years and is bottled at 48.5%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. To manage the long maturation, casks were moved from warmer to cooler parts of the warehouses. The mash is 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, and the spirit is filtered drop by drop through about three metres of sugar maple charcoal before ageing. The nose is charred oak, butter toffee, maple, flambéed banana, baking spice and tobacco. The palate adds cocoa, rye spice and black pepper. The finish is dry, with pepper, leather and dark caramel.
