Jack Daniel's – Old No. 7 Black Label Tennessee Whiskey

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is a Tennessee whiskey from the distillery in Lynchburg, made with iron-free water from an underground spring. The distillery makes its own barrels, and the whiskey matures for two to four years. The mash and fermentation resemble bourbon, but the whiskey is filtered through maple charcoal, which is what defines it as Tennessee whiskey. The method has been refined since 1866. The nose is nut brittle and soft vanilla, with liquorice and caramel. The palate is round, with oak, berry fruit, creamy vanilla and caramel sweetness, and a touch of liquorice. The finish is dry, with smoke and charcoal and a lingering sweetness.
