James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl)

James E. Pepper 1776 Straight Rye is a high-rye straight rye whiskey of deep amber colour, in a 75cl bottle. It comes from a historic Kentucky brand that has been revived. The nose is delicately floral, with dried peach, nougat, crème brûlée and pepper. The palate is supple and dry yet fruity, with a medium-to-full body, and the finish brings buttercream and orange spice cake. A few drops of water suit it well, and it can be drunk neat or in a classic rye cocktail.
