A Kentucky straight bourbon from the 1980s, sold under the name of James E. Pepper as Old 1776, in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is a nearly contemporary version of the Schenley product and was distilled at the Bernheim distillery in Louisville. James E. Pepper is an important name in American distilling. In 1890 he campaigned for Kentucky to let him bottle his own whiskey at the distillery rather than sell it by the barrel, and in 1897 he was a leading supporter of the Bottled in Bond Act.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
