This 12 year old Jameson Distillery Reserve blends pot still and grain whiskeys and is bottled at 40% ABV. Maturation took place in first-fill bourbon casks and oloroso sherry casks.
On the nose it is light and delicate but more complex than its strength suggests: cherries, dates, prunes and honey from the sherry, lemon and green apple from the bourbon, plus floral and malty touches. On the palate, sweet sherry fruit meets biscuit malt, black pepper, almond, graham cracker and mint. The finish is medium, ending on heather, toffee and a touch of charred oak.
