Jameson Distillery Reserve 12 Year Old is an Irish blend of pot still and grain whiskeys, bottled at 40% ABV. It was matured in first-fill bourbon and oloroso sherry casks.
The sherry casks bring dates, prunes, cherries and honey, while the bourbon casks add lemon and green apple. The nose also has a creamy buttermilk note, with walnut and vanilla. The palate is smooth and sweet, with cocoa powder, biscuit malt, black pepper, almond, mint and balsamic. The finish is of medium length, with woody pepper, heather, toffee and charred oak.
