This is Jameson Irish whiskey from the 1980s, in a 1 litre bottle at 40%. It is pale gold in colour.
The nose is caramelly, with caramelised peanuts and very ripe oranges. It becomes mashy, almost like stout, before turning dustier and more tea-like, with hints of lavender and geranium.
The palate is very sweet, nutty and cereally, with burnt cake, overcooked praline and a little coffee, then liquorice and a tannic, dry turn. The medium-long finish is bitter chocolate with fresh apple juice.
